In college I started out as a pre-med major because of my love for science and problem-solving. After a few changes during my early twenties, I took time off to marry my high school sweetheart and pursued a career in Retail Sales for almost a decade. My career had to change due to an injury where I couldn’t stand on my feet for 12 hours a day any longer; I could barely walk. This led me to physical therapy. After a few months of treatment I was back to leading an active lifestyle with my husband and starting a family.
On my journey as a wife, mother - and then operations manager at a large company - I was torn between my family and my job. Finally, I took time off to be with my family and that allowed me to return to college and graduate with a degree in Psychology - exactly 20 years after I first attended Hofstra University!
Life has come full circle for me. With my degree I returned to my love of the medical profession, this time on the financial side of physical therapy. I love assisting patients in finding the right fit for them, just like I did when I first tried physical therapy. This rehabilitative approach to my injury changed my life. I wouldn’t change my journey due to all of the wonderful people and experiences I had along the way.
